CSA Policy
Thank you for becoming a member of our CSA program. By joining, you are prepaying for a share of the farms harvest. We are honored to provide you with fresh, seasonal, certified organic food from our farm.
Picking up Your Share
Members agree to pick up their box each week at their designated pickup site within the pickup time window. We guarantee boxes only during the pickup time. We are not responsible for boxes not picked up after the pickup time.
Members are responsible for checking off their name on the clipboard provided when they pickup their share. This way we can make sure everybody gets their veggies! Please bring your own bag to the pickup site each week and transfer your veggies from the box into your own bags, and leave your box flattened with other empty boxes. This allows us to reuse the boxes many times.
Vacation Hold Policy:
If you are a Full Season or Half Season member, you can place your box on hold up to 4 times (Full Season members) or 2 times (Half Season members), and receive a credit slip (value $22) that can be used to shop at any of our farmers market stands in 2012. We will mail you a credit slip the Monday before the delivery you have put on hold. If you use all of your allotted vacation holds, any boxes you place on hold will be donated.
If you're a 4 week harvest member and place your box on hold, it will be donated. If you’re going to be out of town, we suggest arranging to have a friend pick it up (and remind them to check off your name on the checklist). It’s a good idea to check your calender before subscribing.
The weekly deadline for putting your box on hold is Saturday night at 11 pm. Please note this time applies to both Tuesday and Friday delivery days. After this time you will not be able to change your delivery for that week. This allows us time to plan for the upcoming harvest.
To place your box on hold, login to your member account (you will create an account during the signup process): http://shootingstar.csaware.com/accounts/login.jsp and click "box schedule and contents." Then find the date you would like to put your box on hold and click "hold delivery."
Privacy
We use a web based software called “CSAware” for members to manage their subscriptions. You will be asked to create a member account in the signup process, which allows members to pay securely using a credit card or check. It will also allow you to to manage your account throughout the season. You will be able to update your contact information, change your dropsite, and put a hold on your box (if you are going out of town).
We do not share any of the information you provide us with by signing up with other parties. We use this information to contact you about your membership and keep you updated about the farm. Your phone number will appear on the dropsite pickup list so that we can contact you in case of a missed pickup.
By signing up for Shooting Star CSA, members are purchasing a share of the farms harvest, which is susceptible to factors such as weather and growing conditions. We make it our mission to provide members with the best quality produce we can grow, and thank you for supporting us in this way. If there is a defect in your box please contact us immediately so we can arrange a replacement. We handle refunds on a case by case basis.
